Nate From Euphoria

In addition to being one of the most horrific and immoral characters in the HBO max show, Euphoria, Nate is one of the most terrifying antagonists among all the Euphoria stars. Nate, played by Jacob Elordi, an Australian actor, is highly crafty and exploits people to gain what he wants—total dominance over others.

Jacob Elordi has been the talk of the town for many reasons, be it his dating rumors or his roles in the shows; he is the most loved celebrity among youngsters.

Euphoria Plot

Euphoria, which centers on the lives of high school students dealing with drug misuse, relationships, and trauma, makes excellent use of the reality that a terrifying figure like Nate is still a genuine possibility. And given all the horrible things he’s done on the program thus far, that’s terrifying and toxic.

Nate Jacobs

Nate (Jacob Elordi) did everything in his power to keep Maddy, one of the most fashionable major characters, under his sole control in the first season, despite appearing in the second that he isn’t so sure about their future. Despite Nate’s assurances that he would never harm her and always protect her, he continues to argue with her and engages in horrible behavior to keep their relationship together.

Let’s get to the point: Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) is the most confused human being and the scariest character currently appearing on television in Euphoria seasons 1 and 2. You’re likely thinking, “The hot guy from ‘The Kissing Booth‘? He can’t be that bad!” But it is what it is. His Euphoria characterization is opposite to what we saw in The Kissing Booth.

How is Nate the Most Toxic Character?

Let’s Break it Down!

Nate is Abusive

Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) treats his girlfriend, Maddy, physically and emotionally abusively. After hooking up with Maddy, he beat Tyler to a pulp after they broke up. Amid a party, he raged at Jules for “looking at him.”

Nate is Manipulative

Nate (Jacob Elordi) continually blackmails Jules into lying to the police and saying she saw Tyler choke Maddy. He manipulates Tyler into taking the fall for choking Maddy when he is the one who did that.

Nate also manipulates his girlfriend into taking him back time and time again. He will guilt her into staying with him or buying her gifts to make up for his actions.

Nate is Rude to Jules in Their First Meeting

At the start of Euphoria, Jules is the new girl in town, and Kat invites her to Christopher McKay’s house for a back-to-school party. Jules decides to go to get to know her classmates. At the party, Jules crosses paths with Nate (Jacob Elordi).

Because Maddy had sex with an unknown guy in the pool in front of everyone at the party, Nate was furious. The moment he enters again, Jules is the first person he sees. Nate has never met Jules, so he enquires about her name before yelling at her and asking others whether they are familiar with her. Until Jules pulls a knife on him, Nate doesn’t give up.

Nate Lies a lot

Nate catfished Jules. She mistook him for Tyler (ShyGuy118), a boy for whom she had begun to feel genuine feelings. However, he did expose who he was when they ultimately met.

He threatened to report her to the police because she gave him nudes, which is child pornography if she didn’t “keep her head down, mouth quiet, and [not] try to ruin his life”, in addition to lying about who he was. The situation is terrible because Jules never meant to ruin Nate‘s life.

Nate is Dominating

Returning to Jules‘s situation, he wants to have control over her because he can. He wants control over her and the other aspects of his life; indeed, there’s a deeper reason for this. Nate may desire control over her since he learned she had slept with his father, or he may have another motive entirely.

He Sleeps with Cassie Behind Maddy’s Back in Euphoria Season 2

In short and simple words, Nate and Maddy’s relationship is complex. They engage in a destructive and toxic back-and-forth hatred and revenge exchange. The final straw for their relationship was Nate’s affair with Cassie.

Not only does the connection harm Nate and Maddy’s already shaky relationship, but it also permanently rifts Cassie and Maddy. Nate shouldn’t have crossed the line because Cassie and Maddy are best friends, even though he isn’t solely to blame for the affair.

Nate Threatens Maddy with a Gun Season 2

Nate knows he has to stop Maddy from leaking the footage of his dad, Cal Jacobs, and Jules when he finds out that she learned about him and Cassie. Nate goes far in his attempts to save his dad’s company, which he knows will someday belong to him.

While waiting for Maddy to get home, Nate enters her room. He then asks about the disc while pulling a loaded gun on her. Nate takes out the bullets while acting like he is just leaving in one when she denies knowing anything about it.

With the gun in hand, he drags her down into the bed and hovers over her, repeatedly asking her about the disc. When she denies having it, he puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger. Undoubtedly traumatizing Maddy, who is already scared of Nate, is the terrifying game of Russian roulette.

Nate Forces Tyler to Take the Blame for Maddy’s Abuse

Tyler, who has already endured enough abuse from Nate, is thrust back into the situation when Nate is the one who abused Maddy. Tyler is understandably terrified when Nate unexpectedly visits him at his apartment again. According to Nate, Tyler has two options, neither of which he will enjoy.

He threatens to report Tyler for statutory rape because Maddy is a juvenile until Tyler admits to abusing her. Tyler resolves to admit to abusing Maddy after being presented with two difficult choices. Nate threatens Jules once more to inform the police that she saw Tyler abuse Maddy to confirm his admission.

Nate Tells Rue That Jules will Forget About her

Rue Bennett, who plays the outstanding lead actress role in the tv show Euphoria, experiences a manic episode during her clean period. She is obsessed with solving the mystery surrounding Tyler, Jules, and Nate. Rue is the one who starts to put the pieces together to figure out how all the individuals relate to her companion Fezco.

Rue challenges Nate during the school dance. She is aware that he is the one who handed Fezco in and that he has been interfering in Jules‘ life somehow. When Rue asks him to leave her friends alone, Nate tells her that Jules will leave for college and forget about her. This behavior is enough to enrage Rue and cause her to fall into addiction.

When he Reveals Cassie’s Past to McKay

McKay and Cassie first meet at McKay’s back-to-school celebration. Nate questions McKay about Cassie’s past when McKay informs him of the situation. McKay has no idea what Nate is talking about, so Nate starts by explaining.

Nate exposes to McKay the things Cassie should have shared with McKay, including videos and images of Cassie engaging in sexual activity. The revelations about Cassie’s background ruin the connection between her and McKay, making everything sour and changing how he regards her.

Nate Tells Cops About Fezco’s Business

Fezco is one of Rue’s closest friends. He is a drug dealer. Fezco is particularly protective of Rue since he sees her as a sister. He resolves to take action after learning that Nate may be harassing Rue and her friends.

Fezco is working at the gas station one day when Nate enters. Fezco decides to face Nate and threatens to murder him if he continues to harass Rue. The interaction irritates Nate, so he chooses to take revenge by telling the police that Fezco has drugs at his home, which triggers a raid at Fezco’s residence.

Nate Grabs Maddy by Neck and Threatens her

Maddy and Nate decide to meet up on the night of the carnival. When they finally meet, Nate criticizes Maddy for her clothing. He says his parents don’t like her, and she looks like a hooker. She naturally intends to exact revenge in typical Maddy fashion.

She grabs Molly before approaching Nate’s parents’ chili booth and insulting them until Nate drags her away by the arm. He grabs her by the neck and threatens her before leading her to a remote place. Maddy has significant neck bruises when she gets home later.

We can frequently observe toxic masculinity in action. But “Euphoria” does a great job of setting the scene for how harmful notions about what it means to be a male grow over time in men, even as early as childhood. Nate hates women.

His offensive comments and the numerous occasions he harasses women in the show repeatedly create this motif. But when you look at what makes Nate go, his battle with masculinity becomes a little more complicated. One of the reasons Nate struggles with his sexuality is that he first encounters his father’s pornography at a very young age.

Nate displays signs of hypersexuality with women, even though he can’t tolerate the sight of his teammates in the locker room without clothes on, as mentioned in Rue’s narrative. Additionally, Nate’s relationship with his mother is tense, and for many men, their first notion of how to relate to and speak with women is based on this relationship.

The spectator may understand why Nate equates the women around him with fragility and finds the women who don’t match that image, like Jules, uncomfortable because Rue mentions that Nate despises his mother for being weak and a pushover.
