Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker (Tom Holland), debuted in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2016 with his appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Since then, Tom Holland-led Spider-Man has credit for six MCU movies.
The fan-favorite character Spider-Man needs no introduction. But to whom it may concern, Spider-Man is a fictional superhero comic character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and published by Marvel Comics.
Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker, started its famous cinematic journey in 2002 by Sony Pictures Entertainment/Disney (Parent Company). Sam Raimi stepped on as the director of the first Spider-Man movie.

Until now, Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man has five solo films: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3 (played by Tobey Maguire). Next, Mark Robb directed The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (played by Andrew Garfield). After joining MCU, Spider-Man did three solo films. Besides that, he acted in other Marvel movies as well, such as Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), and more. It makes a total of seven (one animated) Spider-Man appearances in the MCU world.
Since Spider-Man has multiple presences in TV and movies, it gets confusing. Figuring it out is like trying to find him in the multiverse. So, let’s consider it a big journey and understand it from the beginning.
The Beginning
Spider-Man first appeared in a 1977 television film starring Nicholas Hammond as Peter Parker. Then one year later, a two-part television series named The Amazing Spider-Man (1978) came out, and a re-edited version got a release date outside America as Spider-Man Strikes back.
Later in the year 1978, Japanese company Toei made a spin-off Spider-man Television Series known as the Japanese Spider-Man. Each Spider-Man has its own traits, and they are equally brilliant.
But Sony and Marvel’s team-up film, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, went to a different height, grossing millions and billions of dollars at the box office. Let’s discuss Spider-Man’s big-screen journey till now in the MCU world.

Ever wonder why Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios/ Disney assembled for Spider-Man movies?
Why Sony and Marvel Came Together?
Here’s the reason–

In 1998, Sony got the legal right to make Spider-man movies when Marvel Comics didn’t have its cinematic studios. Marvel Comics was eager to bring Spider-man into the big screen as it is their flagship character. As Marvel didn’t have a studio, they had to sell the movie and merchandise rights to Sony, and in return, Sony Pictures had to make Spider-man movies every five years.
That said, Sony Pictures started making movies in 2002 with Spider-Man, following Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-man 3 in 2007. All of them were box office hits and critically acclaimed movies. Sony has been producing multiple Spidey films since 2002 and still has the right to make new Spider-man-related movies.
After the failure of The Amazing Spider-man, Sony was critical to proceed with more Spidey movies, and the deal was on their mind. If they didn’t make movies within five years, the right would eventually go to Marvel.
So, in 2015, Sony decided to strike a new deal to work with Marvel. In return, Marvel has to co-produce Spider-man movies and also can use Spidey in their other films. Both the studios were aware of Spider man’s critical success. Marvel was happy to finally gain the character of Spider-man. It was like a homecoming moment.
If you are unaware of Spider-Man movies, from where to start and where to end, this list will be handy to make you know more about the MCU Spider-Man movies in order. Furthermore, if you want to go deep into Peter Parker’s life, then you should watch other Spider-Man films, which are by Sony Pictures.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review:
The movie got mixed reviews, and unfortunately, it became one of the lowest-grossing Spider-Man film films, but the chemistry between Parker and Stacy got a good response which turned out to be true in real life too.
