After seeing a war movie on Hulu can be a very tiring experience. There is so much bloodshed, death, heartbreaking stories, and undertake gruelling training that it can rip your heart apart via affecting war drama. But who said that it has to be all thick and heavy? ‘My Best Enemy’ takes a different approach, even a reprieve, by providing satire. Given the circumstances, I don’t hope the film will be entirely upbeat and hunter-engaged. Some things may appear implausible since they are fantasy (and who was relishing in pleasure at the time?). However, it is a rather enjoyable film to watch for most war movies.
It is set in 1938, just before Germany besieges Austria. Jewish man as a Victor Kaufmann man who is looking forward to seeing his German childhood friend Rudi. Victor is unaware that Rudi is now a Nazi, and their friendship is no longer the same. The truth seems to be that Victor’s family possesses a valuable picture that was stolen several years ago from either the Vatican. The Germans desired it so they could return to Italy; it was a fascinating trip, and listening to their concerns was their mandatory service.
