Season 10 of the sitcom is still airing on ABC. Thus, the series’ run has just begun. The show presently has an IMDb rating of 8.5 out of 10. In the behind-the-scenes episodes of Modern Family, it can be seen that the cast has built a family-like relationship and have the best chemistry.

15. In an ad, Sofia Vergara once blasted the show creators for having her character too Mexican.
Vergara said in a TIME interview,
“I went towards the authors and said, “We would never do this; Colombians do not really dress like that.”
“I can’t find anything wrong with the authors. You can’t advise an American author to write about a different culture and expect it to flow as naturally as writing about an American individual. You write what you know.”
14. Rico Rodriguez initially stumbled a lot as he tried to get into character.
Actor Manny Delgado I’m completely in tune with my persona now. Rodriguez remarked,
“I didn’t start as well when we first started. I used to mumble on the podcast, but I’ve since stopped. When a circumstance arises, I tend to act more like Manny and think more like him until I am entirely him”.
13. Producers wanted Ariel Winter’s mother to be barred from the set because she was so unbearable.
Chrystal would reportedly sit on the set and observe Ariel like a hawk before criticizing her physical looks, stating her ears were too big, and she looked unattractive in her attire, according to a TMZ story. Additionally, she forbade Ariel from eating anything else but raw vegetables and egg whites.
12. Members of the cast are not given copies of texts that don’t feature their role.
Hyland once said on Instagram,
“Since I don’t study the manuscripts of the Modern Family episodes I’m not in, I recently learned that my grandfather’s dead along with all of you,” that her grandpa had passed away.
She remarked,
“You’d think I’d be asked to the burial as his grandchild.”
11. The program deliberately stays away from controversial topics to keep it relevant.
Levitan said
“We aim to be incredibly subtle with that to follow the modern family. We strive to be a slight bit more timeless, a little bit more subtle, and universal, he continued. It would be fantastic if individuals could see the show in 20 years without noticing that there was a joke about Donald Trump.”
10. Ariel Winter despised the year she had braces while working on the show.
There at ABC 2020 Winter TCA event, Winter stated,
“I believe Rico, Nolan, and I matured over 11 years. I wouldn’t say I liked the year I wore braces. Since I was going through puberty simultaneously, it was a particularly awkward year for me. Once we finished, I had other things to deal with.”
9. Through a phone call, Shelley Long learned of the passing of her character.
According to Levitan,
Jeff Greenberg, our casting director, has known Shelley since the days of Cheers. He contacted her and related the incident. We offered to be reached if she had any other inquiries. Regarding that, she was adorable. “This was a terrific way to get a great send-off,” he continued.
8. Gloria was conceived by Steve Levitan & Christopher Lloyd, considering Sofia Vergara.
Vergara said
“They met with me at the beginning and would ask me questions, so the role has many parallels to my own life. I was an immigrant from Colombia who spoke with an accent and owned a previous relationship with a child. It was built specifically for me.”

7. Producers originally wanted Jesse Tyler Ferguson to try out for the part of Cameron.
“I was instantly taken to Mitchell, but they wanted to meet me about Cameron,” Ferguson said in Out magazine. I read for Cameron, so they stopped me midway through and said, “You’d make a pretty decent Mitchell. Fortunately, Ferguson was able to convince them.
6. Because she was expecting, Julie Bowen nearly declined the role because she didn’t think she had a chance.
“They would start bringing me in and scrutinize my abdomen,” Bowen remarked. Legally, they might be unable to ask, “What’s that just about?” I would go home and cry and tell myself I would never get this job, the best job in the world, so I dropped out of the running for it.
5. The Running Joke That Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Real Life Was the Inspiration for Jay Forgetting That Michelle Is Gay
He added,
“At one time, after I had previously come out to him, he asked me if I had a partner, and I had to clarify, ‘No, Dad, I’m homosexual.'”
He said,
“My father and I share a relationship comparable to that one Ed and I have on the program,” in the meantime.
4. Together all Asian jokes in the pilot weren’t initially loved by the network.
We received some feedback regarding several specific gags in the pilot. Levitan remarked,
“We had three Asian markings in the pilot, but they requested us to remove them. In the end, we kept two and cut one of them. As we just stated, it’s crucial”. Every TV guide has these modern family episodes.
3. Sarah Hyland Is Unhappy with Haley’s Final Show Story Arc.
According to Hyland, the program could have featured Haley “owning her badassery in the world of fashion.” She continued that many fantastic mothers are also hard workers, excel at their careers, and consistently succeed in both areas. Seeing something like that, especially by someone like Haley, would have been incredibly significant.
2. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, as well as Ty Burrell, typically ruin Takes by laughing a lot.
Bowen claims that he and Ty are terrible because they never stop making fun of one another. Those two take such great pleasure in one another. They exchange a glance before making this small face at one another.
They’ll continue to laugh all day making some of the best behind-the-scenes moments on Modern Family sets. Therefore, those two probably wreck each other’s takes the most.
1. The Creator hailed the Retrospective Format as just a “wonderful device.”
“The documentary form itself is such a tremendous story to get to the heart of a tale, cut to the chase of what a character is thinking,” said Levitan, calling it a “beautiful device.” You don’t need to include weird, awkward exposition. You get right there when you cut to watch it.
Modern Family Premise
The Los Angeles-based television series Modern Family episodes centers on various families, and it is one of the most recommended shows, all connected by Jay Pritchett’s daughter Claire and son Mitchell. Fulgencio Joseph Joy Pritchett, a little boy, and Manuel “Manny” Delgado, a son of Gloria’s prior marriage, were born to patriarch Jay and Gloria Delgado Pritchett (née Ramirez), a passionate Colombian city immigrant.
Javier, Gloria’s ex-husband, and DeDe, Jay’s ex-wife, occasionally appear on the program.

After being a stay-at-home mother for a while, Claire, Jay’s daughter, returned to employment as the CEO of Pritchett’s Closets & Blinds. Phil Dunphy, a real estate broker & personality “cool dad” who likes to play the violin and perform magic shows, is the man she is married to. They have three kids: Haley, a typical teen ditz; Alex, the intelligent and nerdy middle child; and Luke, the eccentric only child.
In the show, Dylan, Haley’s on-again, off-again lover, appears frequently.

Mitchell, the adopted daughter of Cameron Tucker and Lily Tucker-Pritchett, who is of Vietnamese descent, is Jay’s lawyer-son. In the series finale, they add a baby boy called Rexford to their family. As the name implies, the episodes are humorously material built on news that most characters experience in actual life.
This family depicts a modern family.

Modern Family Initial Development
The idea for a television show came to writers as well as produced by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan as they recounted family histories. They began developing the concept of a family, becoming the subject of a mockumentary-style program. Later, they concluded that a show and performance on the lives of three families might be appropriate.
It was initially going to be called My American Family, and a fictional Dutch filmmaker named Geert Floortje would be in charge of the camera team. Floortje had been an exchange student with Jay’s family when he was a teenager and had a thing for Claire. Later, the creators decided that this element wasn’t necessary, and it was removed.
Lloyd now sees the show’s response as “a family show has catch documentary-style.” Focus panels gave the pilot episode a favorable review; as a result, the network ordered 13 episodes and included them in the program for the 2009–10 fall season days before ABC released its formal schedule.
In October 2009, an entire season of the show was renewed. They also had a lot of fun off-screen as can be seen in the Modern Family Bts episodes.

Modern Family Plot
Because it is portrayed from the perspective of an anonymous movie director, the series offers an open, frequently funny look into family life. The three kids of Phil and Claire yearn for an honest and open connection with such a gay couple. But it’s challenging due to a hyperactive little child, a daughter who is far bright for her own good, and a daughter who is trying to develop too rapidly.
While Gloria’s father is sometimes confused for Claire’s dad Jay, Jay and his Latina wife Gloria, an actress, are parenting two kids together. Mitchell, Jay’s gay son, and Cameron, his boyfriend, have acquired a young Asian girl, making their family a large, happy, multicultural, conventional one. Modern Family has some of the best comedy and crazy behind-the-scenes episodes, which are a must-watch.
