7 of the Child Abduction Movies on Amazon Prime
1. The Witches

- Director- Nicolas Roeg
- Stars- Anjelica Huston, Mai Zetterling, Jasen Fisher, Rowan Atkinson
- IMDB Ratings- 6.8/10
- Rotten Tomatoes Ratings- 93%
- Where To Watch- Amazon Prime Video
The Witches Plot-
The narrative could not be more traditional, as bedtime stories should be: Luke, a tragic hero, goes through hell like Odysseus and comes out wiser for his experiences. After reading Roeg’s adaptation of the text, which concludes with the child grateful for the opportunity to live out his remaining few short years as a mouse, hunting witches with his Grandma, this fate is too similar to the little girl trapped in the artwork to be fully satisfying.
Jane Horrocks, the Grand High Witch’s former aide, is carrying a puke bucket in case anyone discusses children in front of her boss so that she won’t suffer the same fate as her former witch friends, converted into mice and crushed by hotel staff. She reappears in the last scene, resplendent in a pixie dress, to convert Luke into a human figure.
The Witches Review-
This is Nicolas Roeg’s initial it of a children’s film. In his films, he nearly always communicates a twisted, dark sensuality. In this one, that sensitivity manifests itself in his willingness to expose the kids to some of the true risks of their situation.
As a result, the film may be too intense for younger audiences (although some of them these days seem hardened to anything). “The Witches,” on the other hand, is an interesting film, bold and innovative, and nearly worth seeing simply for Anjelica Huston’s clear enjoyment in playing a wholly unadulterated evil.
2. Gardens Of The Night

- Director- Damian Harris
- Stars- Gillian Jacobs, John Malkovich, Ryan Simpkins
- IMDB Ratings- 6.8/10
- Rotten Tomatoes Ratings- 57%
- Where To Watch- Amazon Prime Video
Gardens Of The Night Plot-
In a long flashback, 8-year-old Leslie (Ryan Simpkins) hunts for a lost puppy with two guys (Alex/Tom Arnold and Frank/Kevin Zegers) and then gets into their vehicle when they inform her that her family is in difficulty.
She eventually ends herself in a filthy house with a little black child named Donnie (Jermaine ‘Scooter’ Smith). Within a short while, the befuddled youngsters figure out what is happening and band together to survive.
Gardens Of The Night Review-
Star Jacobs is excellent enough to make you care for the colder adolescent Leslie, but he’s about five years too old for the character and far too well-groomed and clear-complexioned to play a credible smackhead. Arnold is the star of the program.
Given the similarities with the lead story of abducted white 4-year-old Madeleine McCann, the film may have difficulty finding distribution in the UK, which has already delayed the release of the equally subject “Gone Baby Gone.”
3. Doctor Sleep
- Director- Mike Flanagan
- Stars- Mike Flanagan, Akiva Goldsman
- IMDB Ratings- 7.3/10
- Rotten Tomatoes Ratings- 78%
- Where To Watch- Amazon Prime Video
Doctor Sleep Plot-
Flanagan’s efforts to connect the dots between King’s original material and Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining include an obvious allusion to King’s version of The Shining. In the novel, Jack pursues his family around the hotel and meets little Danny, who swears he isn’t his father and that the hotel is wearing a mask.
Jack subdues the spirits long enough to have a pleasant conversation with Danny, telling him and his mother to flee. Indeed, Jack fails to release the pressure on the pipes in the novel The Shining, and The Overlook explodes, precisely as it happens in Doctor Sleep.
Doctor Sleep Review-
“Doctor Sleep” is a mundane film that earns its emotional shock waves. By the time we reach the famed lodge in the cold Colorado Rockies, nestled in the cold Colorado Rockies, the tale is more than a stunt; it feels as if the plot is gaining the right to return at the end. The tale doesn’t return to the Overlook Hotel until the final third (though there is a brief preamble beforehand).
Every third horror picture nowadays is set in a haunted mansion, but the Overlook stands out for its gorgeously synchronized monsters. They may be old buddies, but they still have a few tricks in their sleeves.
Watched Doctor Sleep last night. I really enjoyed the book and thought it made a great sequel. The movie is as well. Highly entertaining. pic.twitter.com/kcE9oydzzq

Adam Plot-
The true tale of John and Reve Walsh, who launched a nationwide campaign and lobbied Congress to adopt the Missing Children’s Act, which gave parents access to the FBI’s national crime computer after their six-year-old son was kidnapped (and subsequently murdered).
At the end of the program, images and summaries of numerous missing children were broadcast, prompting many phone calls and even the finding of several of the missing children. A second viewing of the video with a different set of photographs the following May yielded similar positive results, bolstered by Daniel J. Travanti’s ongoing personal advocacy on behalf of families of missing children.
Adam Review-
Adam is a moving television film about Adam Walsh’s missing and how it influenced laws for the better. Daniel J Travanti and JoBeth Williams have outstanding performances as his heartbroken parents, who get concerned and set out to improve legislation concerning missing children.
This short delivers a punch and reminds audiences that made-for-TV movies like Adam are still accessible, albeit on YouTube.

The plot of this child abduction movies on amazon prime focuses on Paula (Elena Anaya) and her spouse, Simon (Pablo Molinero), who discovers Clara, a wandering girl. While they try to reconcile their relationship, the couple adopts the girl.
However, as we attempted to explain in this post, the film’s finale baffled many viewers. In the finale, Paula and Clara are nowhere to be seen while the police record and gather evidence. Towards the film’s end, the two communicate over video chat over the computer. Her grandmother took Clara in after she returned to Germany.
The Chalk Line Review-
The Chalk Line is poised to enter The Good Son territory, but it doesn’t. It takes a slightly rewarding, unexpected, and suspenseful turn. Even though the villains are rarely described in full, there is still a problem. However, I like that Pea’s writing doubled at the end of the picture, resulting in another startling story surprise.
THE CHALK LINE on #Netflix is a new thriller, horror, and mystery movie from Spain (org. title Jaula). It’s based on a true story, which you might recognize towards the end. Even if it is loosely. Read our full #TheChalkLine movie review here! https://t.co/XsLnQ5COFr

6. The Black Phone

- Director- Scott Derrickson
- Stars- Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Ethan Hawke, Jeremy Davies
- IMDB Ratings- 6.9/10
- Rotten Tomatoes Ratings- 83%
- Where To Watch- Amazon Prime Video
The Black Phone Plot-
This child abduction movies on amazon prime is evocative, harkening back to the days of striped baby shirts, flared pants, and The Ramones. A rich fusion of browns, oranges, and film grain is depicted on the screen along with filtered light. But Derrickson’s trauma has tainted this ideal 1970s suburbia.
Thames and McGraw exploit the screen’s emotional distance in every moment of individual attention to establish a closer emotional relationship. While some of the most moving images occur during the silent times between the brothers, they also portray a powerful sibling bond under pressure.
The Black Phone Review-
“The Black Phone” is a romantic plot disguised as a paranormal serial killer picture. It nails its core elements while allowing its subtleties to take control, thanks to dynamic performances and a compelling atmosphere.
The gore is secondary to the tale, with character development taking precedence, yet the picture does not fail to excite. As a result, your knees are nailed to your chest, and your claws are pressed to your teeth because of your attachment to Finney and the tension the film masterfully created.
Wow! What a surprise! #TheBlackPhone was one of the most suspenseful movies we have seen for a while.
Mrs W usually avoids horrors but was glued from its start and we were both riveted by anticipation at its conclusion. 252. The Black Phone; movie review https://t.co/rOHGB7ukVX pic.twitter.com/sFvBd5OnNy— neil white (@everyfilmneil) August 19, 2022

It Review Review-
As with any horror film, there are some irrational situations, although they are few and far between. The film is topped by one of the finest thriller scripts ever written. Upon entering the horror house for the very first time, Bill says, “This house is simpler than my (without Georgie
Aside from some famous lines, IT features something you wouldn’t anticipate from a film of its genre: side-splitting laughter. When you think the film is gone too far with the scary sequences, you’ll be rewarded with a humorous scene.
